Sunnudaginn 27. apríl næstkomandi fer fram undankeppni fyrir Norðurlandamót Vínþjóna.

Auk þess að þreyta skriflegt próf, þurfa keppendur að blindsmakka og greina vín, geta sýnt rétta meðhöndlun mismunandi víntegunda (s.s. umhellingu léttvíns og/eða opnun kampavíns) og skila vínpörun með matseðli.

Prófið og keppnin fer fram á ensku þar sem þeir tveir keppendur sem hljóta efstu tvö sætin munu keppa fyrir Íslands hönd á Norðurlandamóti Vínþjóna í Stokkhólmi í október.

Tveimur vikum fyrir keppni, sunnudaginn 13. apríl, bjóða Vínþjónasamtök Íslands uppá kynningarfund þar sem stjórn Víþjónasamtakanna, bjóða væntanlegum keppendum og öðrum áhugasömum upp á tækifæri til að kynna sér og fara ítarlega yfir keppnisaðferðir og reglur.

The Icelandic Sommelier Association will host a qualifying competition for the Best Sommelier of the Nordics Competition on Sunday, April 27th. All interested parties are welcome to participate and must be ready to demonstrate their skills at number of tasks such as, blind tasting, sparkling wine service and/or decantatin, wine and food pairings as well as sit a theoretical examination. The competition will be held in English as the top two candidates will represent Iceland at the Best Sommelier of the Nordics Competition which will take place in Stockholmn this coming October.

The board of the Icelandic Sommelier Association will invite members and those interested in competing to a run down of competition rules and regulations two weeks prior to the competition on Sunday, April 13th.
