Vínþjónn Íslands 2023 – Skráning hafin

Það er ánægja að tilkynnna ykkur að á sunnudaginn 23. apríl fer fram keppnin um Vínþjón Íslands.

Keppnin er haldin þriðja hvert ár og mun keppandinn sem fer með sigur af hólmi hljóta titillinn Vínþjónn Íslands til næstu þriggja ára. Á þessu tímabili mun sigurvegarinn keppa fyrir Íslands hönd á hinum ýmsu alþjóðlegu mótum, meðal annars í Helsinki á Norðurlandamóti Vínþjóna í október þessa árs.

Keppnin fer fram öll á ensku, þar sem hún er keppnistungumál á erlendum mótum.

Auk þess að þreyta skriflegt próf, þurfa keppendur að geta sýnt hæfni í:

Blindsmakki, munnlegu eða/og skriflegu.

Meðhöndlun mismunandi víntegunda, t.d. umhellingu léttvíns og/eða opnun freyðivíns.

Að skila vínpörun með matseðli eða öfugt.

Viku fyrir Íslandsmótið, sunnudaginn 16. apríl, bjóða Vínþjónasamtökin uppá kynningarfund þar sem stjórn samtakanna, Alba E. H. Hough, Peter Hansen og Tolli Sigurbjörnsson, bjóða væntanlegum keppendum og öðrum áhugasömum upp á tækifæri til að kynna sér keppnisaðferðir og reglur.

Best Sommelier of Iceland 2023

It is our pleasure to inform you that the competition for the title Best Sommelier of Iceland will be held on Sunday, April 23th.

The competition is held every third year, and whoever wins the title will be the Icelandic representative in various international competitions during that period. The first of which is the Best Sommelier of the Nordics competition, held in Helsinki in October of 2023.

The competition will be held entirely in English as it is a prerequisite in international competitions.

Along with a theoretical examination, competitors will be required to display efficiency in a number of tasks such as:

Blind tasting wines, written and/or oral.

Various service techniques, wine decantation and/or opening of sparkling wines, for instance.

Creating a wine pairing to match food or vice versa.

The board of the Icelandic Sommelier Association, Alba E. H. Hough, Peter Hansen and Tolli Sigurbjörnsson will invite participants and other curious members to an introductory meeting on Sunday, April 16th. The purpose of which will be to give interested parties a chance to familiarise themselves with competition methods and rules.
